  1. Thing you have to remember in order to be successful on how to meditate properly is setting the time. Some people meditate for 10 minutes. Others can go for 30 minutes to an hour. Whether you do it for minutes or an hour, the important thing is to be clear of outside distractions. This means no distractions from family or pets. Some people also use music or listen to recordings of waves breaking, waterfalls or others to keep them from hearing outside noises. These are good as long as you are concentrating on your breathing and not on these sounds.

      Thanks for your info, Alvin. I personally believe if you need quiet or music, a special room or conditions that it is the room or environment meditating not you. i’ve meditated in very noisy places under all kinds of conditions. Nothing distracts me because I set an intention of what I want to accomplish as well as a request for what I will gain from the meditation. There are as many ways to meditate and achieve your desired results as there are people on the planet,. There is right or wrong way to meditate just as there is no right or wrong way to pray.
